BELGRADE, Serbia - September 11, 2019 - Nordeus Hub opens in Belgrade; a free co-working space specifically created for the gaming industry. A first of its kind in the country, the Hub is a space for the development of indie game teams, start-ups, and the empowerment of talent with the aim of boosting the gaming ecosystem in Serbia.

Through offering educational programs, meetups, talks, and community driven events, the Hub will serve as a center where people can learn and develop their skills, collaborate, find teammates, and get help and support from Nordeus teams and others in the industry.

To create a Hub specifically designed for supporting the gaming industry in Belgrade and Serbia, the concept has been in development for over a year, with a pilot space launched back in December 2018 to learn and see the appetite for this kind of giving back initiative. Located within the GTC Green Heart Complex - in the building across from Nordeus - the 260 sqm space has the capacity for circa 30 people seated as a co-working space and up to 70 for events, while also having two bookable meeting rooms, desks, equipped kitchen, and other facilities.

“With Nordeus Hub we will be delivering practical programs and events for individuals and talented students, that will introduce them to gaming as a business and offer them the tools to start developing their careers or start-ups,” said Milos Paunovic, CSR Specialist at Nordeus. “We are looking to create more successful gaming companies, and to build an ecosystem that can ultimately support putting Serbia on the global map of gaming.”

The Hub will be offering various programs and community events for gaming professionals and students to bring them together and support them in finding their way in the industry. Two key programs to kick off in 2019 are ‘Booster’ and ‘Intro to Gaming’.

Booster is a free program aimed at teams and individuals in the gaming industry and will run on a six month basis where participants will have the space for collaborating, a series of specially designed workshops, and mentorship from experienced industry veterans from Nordeus. The first program has already started from applications via Serbian Games Association, but people can apply for the next round at https://nordeus.com/nordeus-hub.

Intro to Gaming is a series of events and talks aimed at educating anyone interested in working in gaming, and will cover all aspects involved in the industry and this creative field. In 2019 we will dive into topics such as; the state of gaming globally, the Free to Play market, game development, game art and production, game design, and many more. For up-to-date information follow the Nordeus Hub social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. The first event planned for the start of October.

Nordeus Hub is a valuable addition to two already successful initiatives in which the company has been part of; Serbian Games Association (SGA) and Digital Serbia Initiative (DSI). Last year, together with seven other gaming companies, SGA was started with the aim of connecting all gaming teams across the country, offering them support and visibility, to ultimately enhance their ability to compete globally. Nordeus is also one of the nine founding members of DSI, an organization founded to support the development of startup ecosystems, create legislation that will help the digital economy develop, and enhance formal and non-formal IT education. Nordeus Hub will look to further fuel the industry by encouraging new gaming companies, supporting their growth, and offering education for all communities within the gaming ecosystem here in Serbia.
