Students can now apply for the 2015 AIAS game industry scholarships

April 3, 2015 | By Alex Wawro

Heads up, budding game devs: the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has begun accepting applications from students seeking to claim the organization's Randy Pausch and Mark Beaumont scholarships.

These awards offer students an opportunity to boost their profile in the game industry and get a nice chunk of change to boot: the four winners will each receive $2,500 scholarships and an opportunity to take part in a mentorship program at the 2016 DICE Summit in Las Vegas.

You may recall that the AIAS' Mark Beaumont scholarship program offers two scholarships of $2,500 to students specializing in executive leadership, law, marketing, public relations, and business development. This scholarship honors the former COO of Capcom North America and Europe, who passed away in 2010.

The organization's Randy Pausch scholarship, launched to honor the memory of the late Carnegie Mellon University professor, also offers $2,500 to two students pursuing careers in art, animation, programming, engineering, game direction, game design, sound design, or music composition.

Students interested in applying for either scholarship can do so until June 30th via the AIAS scholarships page. In order to be eligible, students must have a GPA of at least 3.3, be a full-time student and attend an accredited U.S. college or university during the 2014-2015 school year.
