FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
14
th January 2013, WARWICKSHIRE. Leading games
and technology PR agency Lincoln Beasley will be staging a free
indie PR workshop at Birmingham Science Park Aston on Wednesday 23
rd January 2013.
‘Shouting in a crowded room: Using PR to build your
digital brand’ will be hosted by Birmingham Science Park and
led by Lincoln Beasley’s Natalie Griffith. The hands-on
workshop is designed to give indie developers and tech startups a
solid grounding in the importance of PR and brand-building, as well
as the opportunity to discuss and share best practice between all
the attendees.
Drawing on over two decades in the games industry, Natalie will
take the group through the essential tactics, opportunities and
working practices that smaller studios should embrace as they
strive for commercial success in an ever-crowded marketplace.
Natalie explains: “Despite the lower technological barriers
for entry into digital entertainment in 2013, the fundamental rules
of PR are more important than ever. Without addressing those needs
and learning to make the most of the communication tools at their
disposal, even the best titles can fail to distinguish themselves.
I’m hoping that by sharing a little of my experience and
bringing a variety of developers together in this way they can all
learn from each others’ successes and failures, and perhaps
even create a network of support and collaboration that they can
all continue to benefit from in the future. BSPA have a great
history of enabling entrepreneurs to exchange ideas in this way and
we’re pleased to be able to contribute to that
now.”
Dr David Hardman, CEO of Birmingham Science Park Aston, is
looking forward to the event: “We’ve seen some amazing
success stories of innovation in the region over the last 30 years,
and we’ve been delighted to be able to support many of them
through the Science Park and its initiatives such as the e4f
programme. One of the biggest challenges facing these entrepreneurs
however has been promoting themselves and their work, either to
investors or to their end consumers, so I’m delighted to
welcome Natalie and Lincoln Beasley to help bridge that knowledge
gap and support the innovators and entrepreneurs of the
future.”
The Workshop is free to attend but places are limited so advance
registration is required. It will be held at BSPA’s Faraday
Wharf site on Wednesday 23
rd January 2013, from 2-4pm. For more information and to
