Melbourne - December 27, 2012 - After 20 days of voting, during
which time 78,000+ votes were logged and 6,000 indie games were
narrowed down to a top 100, we can now announce the 2012 Indie of
the Year. It has the great honor of joining previous victors
Minecraft and Terraria. And the winner is:
In the 11th Annual Mod of the Year event, a staggering
132,000+ votes were logged with an incredibly tight fight occurring
due to two of the most popular mods ever Black Mesa and DayZ. And
the winner is:
Finally, in our experimental first ever App of the Year event,
4,000 votes were logged, with the ultimate battle being who can
edge out the amazing popularity of Minecraft Pocket Edition. And
the winner is:
A massive thanks must go out to the 215,000+ people who voted
in the 2012 awards – it was another great year for
indie/hobbist games and we look forward to covering 2013. Happy
