[In this weekly column, Gamasutra rounds up the most popular paid and free iPad gaming applications on the App Store as of today, with SpellTower, Angry Birds Space and Deer Hunter Reloaded currently ranking among the platform's top downloads.]

This week's top paid titles are:

1. Draw Something ($0.99)
2. Angry Birds Space HD ($2.99)
3. SpellTower ($0.99)
4. Shark Dash ($0.99)
5. Total War Battles ($6.99)
6. Where's My Water? ($0.99)
7. Plants vs. Zombies HD ($6.99)
8. Angry Birds HD ($2.99)
9. Skylanders Cloud Patrol ($0.99)
10. Max Payne Mobile ($2.99)

Indie developer Zach Gage takes on reigning iPad chart leaders Angry Birds Space HD and Draw Something after updating SpellTower this week and dropping its price to 99 cents. The game ranks third in today's rankings, leading over Gameloft's recently released Shark Dash and Sega's strategy title Total War Battles.

Rockstar's Max Payne Mobile reports a steep drop in popularity after premiering at third place last week, and finishes tenth in its second week. Activision's Skylanders Cloud Patrol also sees a considerable slowdown in sales, landing at ninth after previously claiming fourth place.

Here are this week's top free iPad applications:

1. Deer Hunter Reloaded
2. Kingdom Age
3. Paper Monsters
4. The Lorax HD
5. Draw Something Free
6. Feed That Dragon HD
7. Words With Friends HD Free
8. Design This Home
9. Real Fishing 3D Free
10. Written Legends: Nightmare at Sea HD

Glu's hunting sim sequel Deer Hunter Reloaded grabs the top spot in the free app charts in its debut week, beating out Funzio's Kingdom Age and Crescent Moon Games' Paper Monsters.

Miniclip's The Lorax HD remains a popular pick at fourth place, meanwhile, as newcomer Feed That Dragon HD earns sixth place during a limited-time free download promotion.
