Kheper Crow's Blog

Hi! I'm Kheper a creative vagabond and lapsed gamer drifting through both the real world and the world of game creation. I enjoy creating art, music, and poetry, travel, nature, adventure, and, yes, game development. I'm currently living out in remote western China, dabbling in a couple new ideas :)

I don't think of myself as a gamer or game creator, it's more of a flirtation (and an income source). I have worked in production, design, and programming; usually on a very low level doing the work no one else wants. My main passion is in the possibility of digital interactive art and the expressive potential of the medium.

This blog in an attempt to express my thoughts and experiences on the game industry and ways to expand the scope of what both games and the industry can become. Mainly subjects such as diversity, artistic expression, and new perspectives on how we perceive the medium.

While I think the future ...

While I think the future is definitely in interactive emotional type experiences, I don 't think Quantic Dreams approach is really the best solution to that future. It 's like a niche of a niche. There will be a huge future in interactive movies at some point, but not so ...

It just seems like the console space is not really doing so hot right now. It seems popular to blame the end of the hardware cycle or to look at the WiiU sales and say it 's the consoles fault. But maybe it 's consumers getting tired of the same ...

Yeah. I was really excited ...

Yeah. I was really excited about some ideas I was working on. In my mind, they had more depth and less obvious mechanics. I gave up after too much rejection from the various indie festivals and total disinterest from other developers. Honestly, I found way more support outside of the ...

Technically yes you can, and people have, forced others to drink. But in none of these situations was anyone forced into action aside from conversation. r nThese situations are more like a non-drinker being forced to interact with a drunk... which happens ALL the time. If I was given a ...

@Benjamin - I 'm gonna go out on a limb and say maybe the media and stories we consume have a direct effect on how an individual sees and understands the world. Many working in the game industry have spent a LOT of time consuming the stories and characterizations in ...
