I participated in my first Ludum Dare this past weekend, and the general consensus has been that my game was a clever application of the theme, but it needed to be more fun. However, its thematic strength depends on just how much fun it isn't.

Minecraft, as a simulation, carries a lot of real-world meaning. In the real world, humans mine, craft, build, farm, etc. It is in the specifics, though, that Minecraft becomes unethically unrealistic.
