Wednesday 14th November, Manchester, UK: Just in time for festive gatherings with friends and family alike, Thumbfood is excited to announce that PlayLink enabled party game Wordhunters  is available on PlayStation®4 from today.

Wordhunters is the party game that pushes people’s word-play prowess to the limit, challenging up to six players to take each other on in a series of entertaining, brain teasing word games. Using their smartphones as game controllers to outsmart opponents as they look to be crowned as the word champion, play is perfectly pitched to bring friends and family together over the festive period and beyond.

The world of Wordhunters is hosted by Amy the Aviator - your enthusiastic and quick-witted pilot as you travel the globe in a retro air-liner, complete with your own selfies displayed in the plane’s windows! Flying to some of the world’s most famous cities complete with their most iconic landmarks - from London and Paris to New York and Tokyo - take on your rivals in mini word games to piece together your secret word before anyone else and claim victory!

Wordhunters features:

●      15 party word games suitable for the whole family

●      Take off to 20 global destinations from London to Tokyo and beyond

●      Play in front of famous landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, Sydney Opera House, and Empire State building

●      Drop-in/drop-out multiplayer for 2-6 Wordhunters ™

●      Easily change language within the game and practice your foreign vocabulary in French, Italian, German, and Spanish

Wordhunters is a game designed as a shared experience. When developing the game, we specifically had times like Christmas holidays, family days, and parties in mind . It makes our day to watch people take each other on and it all gets very competitive,” says Thumbfood founder and Game Director Simon Smith. “Each contest is a close one because of the variety of games on offer, so it remains tight and tense all the way through. I’ve watched as people have come from the back of the pack to take the title right at the end.”

Wordhunters is part of a wave of second generation PlayLink games for PlayStation®4, designed to enable everyone to play from the comfort of their Apple or Android device, while all the main action takes place on the big screen.

Wordhunters launches exclusively today on PlayStation®4 for £15.99/€19.99/$19.99

on the PlayStation Store and at retail.

Wordhunters will be distributed to retail globally by Wired Productions.
