The Savannah College of Art and Design, together with Thomson Courge Technology, have announced the lineup for the 2006 edition of the Game Developers eXchange conference. Attendees will be able to participate in workshops and sessions on game design, art, and programming with game development experts.
Noah Falstein, president of design consulting firm The Inspiracy, will deliver the conference's keynote address. The speech, called "Games Are Good For You," will discuss how games can be used for more than entertainment, such as educational and training-based serious games, with other applications in government and health care.
In addition to Falstein, other presenters and their topics at the conference include: SCAD professor Brenda Brathwaite on "Murder, Sex, and Censorship;" Blue Fang Games producer Linda Currie on "Pixels to Polys: Assembly to OOP: The Evolution of an Industry;" GarageGames' Davey Jackson on "Torque in Education: Indie Games and Industry Opportunities;" Brian Keller of Microsoft on "XNA Studio: Introduction to XNA;" High Moon Studios lead artist Sean Miller on "Next-Gen Character Development from Concept to Animation;" and others.
The event will be held on May 5th at the SCAD campus in Atlanta, Georgia, from 9 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Those wishing to attend can get registration information, as well as a full lineup of speakers, at the official conference website
