Representatives from VIS-ITV, a joint venture between Scottish developer VIS Entertainment and cable operator Telewest, have confirmed that a number of staff have been laid off.

However the company has been keen to insist that work on its main project a virtual horse racing TV channel named I-Race is still underway.

VIS COO, Jane Karowoski will also shortly be leaving the company, officially because her task of implementaing cutbacks and cost saving measures has been completed although rumours have persisted that she has not remained because of conflicts with CEO Chris van der Kuyl.
