Mobile gaming destination MocoSpace announced it has selected three developers to receive funding and marketing support to launch HTML5 titles on its platform.
The company introduced its $1 million HTML5 Mobile Game Developer Fund last month to help external studios bring their games to the MocoSpace Games Platform, a mobile community that currently reaches around 17 million registered users.
One of the first three developers to receive funding from the program is New Game Town, which is launching an HTML5 port of Happy Farm to MocoSpace this week. It's also creating two other games that it will eventually release to MocoSpace.
Joyplay, a firm specializing in board and card video games, is also receiving support from the fund and will put out a number of HTML5 games on MocoSpace. Beijing-based Flash/mobile developer Kooky Panda is the third studio selected by MocoSpace.
"We are very positive on the future of HTML5-based mobile gaming and are proud to support our first three partners and their exciting titles," says MocoSpace's Games VP Robert Lindsley.
Lindsley adds, "Thereís still plenty of funding remaining so we encourage all interested developers to contact us and jump into the browser-based gaming space while itís a green field opportunity."
