[Every week, IndieGames.com: The Weblog co-editor Tim W. will be summing up some of the top free-to-download and commercial indie games from the last seven days on his sister 'state of indie' weblog.]

This week on 'Best Of Indie Games', we take a look at some of the top independent PC Flash/downloadable titles released over this last week.

The goodies in this edition include a 2D platformer made by DigiPen students, an exploration adventure title about an amnesiac in a spaceship, a rocket building simulator, and an AGS release spoofing a consitutional convention in the U.K.

Here's the highlights from the last seven days:

Game Pick: 'The Lance' (Armor Games, browser)
"The formula behind The Lance is simple. You start as an enterprising knight, the first of your bloodline, who is deeply interested in the King's Lance. In order to acquire this legendary weapon, you'll have to joust with your monarch's stable of knights before taking on the Champion."

Game Pick: 'Zomgies 2' (Megazorb, browser)
"As straightforward as they come, Zomgies 2 will have you guiding the protagonist as he sprints across the streets. Along the way, you'll encounter antidotes and abandoned food scattered across the asphalt along with the occasional abandoned car."

Game Pick: 'It Belongs in an Ancient Ruin' (DigiPen, freeware)
"It Belongs in an Ancient Ruin is a 2D platformer that tells the story of an explorer named Pennsylvania Smith, on a quest to return a collection of museum artifacts to the ruins that they were originally found in. You'll have to sneak around guards and avoid the view of security cameras as you make your way to the treasure located at the end of each level."

Game Pick: 'Dead Cyborg' (Barath Endre, freeware)
"Dead Cyborg is an exploration adventure title that sees you waking up in an unknown shuttle cabin, not knowing how you got there, or who was originally also in your cabin. By reading holocubes and figuring out puzzles that allow you to explore more of your surroundings, you'll be able to piece the situation together and work out what exactly is going on."

Game Pick: 'Kerbal Space Program' (Squad Games, freeware)
"Kerbal Space Program was released last month, and has since been updated multiple times adding new items and features. It's essentially a rocketship-building simulator, with players putting a shuttle together and then launching into into the depths of space."

Game Pick: 'Prime Minister's Questions: The Game' (Pixel Politics, freeware)
"Prime Minister's Questions: The Game is an AGS title spoofing the constitutional convention in the United Kingdom with the same name, where the prime minister spends half an hour answering questions from the opposing party on a weekly basis."
