London Game Career Fair Nearly Doubles Attendance

London Game Career Fair Nearly Doubles Attendance

October 25, 2007 | By Christian Nutt

The 2nd annual London Game Career Fair has nearly doubled its attendance as compared to last year, with almost 2,000 students, graduates and professionals showing up to attend presentations, meet publishers and submit CVs.

According to a prior Gamasutra report, "nearly 1,500 visitors" were expected at the event, which was held at London's Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, but the eventual total was significantly more than that amount.

The London Game Career Fair is a joint event put on by Gamasutra and GamesIndustry.biz. LGCF, which was held Tuesday and Wednesday, was part of the London Games Festival, a series of events currently being held across the city.

According to the event's official website, 18 different exhibitors, including large publishers such as Electronic Arts, independent developers such as Realtime Worlds (Crackdown) and schools such as Australia's Qantm College had booths in the show's exhibits area. Speakers from Ubisoft, Gamasutra's sister site GameCareerGuide.com and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, among others, gave talks.

"We are pleased to have increased both the volume and the caliber of attendees at this yearís event, and pleased to provide a forum dedicated to helping aspiring video game professionals break into the industry and helping key game companies find the talent they are seeking as the industry expands," said Simon Carless, Publisher, Gamasutra.com.
