Paramount Pictures will soon seek a replacement for the head of its original games efforts, interactive and mobile senior VP Sandy Isaacs.
According to Hollywood trade publication Variety, Paramount
may seek a high-profile industry person with the experience to lead its efforts into original IP -- similar to Warner Bros.' move in hiring Vivendi's Martin Tremblay to run its video game segment.
Although it shares a parent with
Rock Band in Viacom, Paramount's video game efforts under Isaacs primarily led the company into film games, and Paramount now wants to begin co-publishing mobile and casual games on its way to full-budget console titles.
It's released iPhone games based on Iron Man and Saturday Night Fever, and Variety's report says that next year, Paramount will co-publish further film games with Legacy Interactive.
