At the 2008 CES, California-based toy manufacturer Jada Toys unveiled the Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker, a toy based on Activision's video game franchise.
The toy includes guitar picks and a belt buckle that connects to a wearable mini-amplifier. By waving the pick over the toy, the user can "play" guitar songs by coordinating the tempo at which they move their hand.
The product comes with an "Air Cartridge" that features 10 guitar riffs representing five skill levels, including Black Sabbath's "Iron Man,"Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water," Motorhead's "Ace of Spades," Van Halen's "You Really Got Me", Boston's "More Than a Feeling," and five original freestyle riffs.
Said Activision/RedOctane vice president of business development Charles Huang, "Jada has a stellar reputation of delivering high quality, trend-setting toys. The Air Guitar Rocker is a unique product that captures the attitude of the Guitar Hero franchise perfectly, allowing rock fans and air guitar enthusiasts the opportunity to jam at will to some of the greatest guitar riffs of all-time."
