Game Grumps’ Arin Hanson to Deliver PAX East 2019 Keynote
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOSTON – Mar. 22, 2019 – Arin Hanson, voice actor, animator, and co-host of comedy gaming show Game Grumps, will deliver the opening “Storytime” keynote at PAX East 2019, taking place March 28-31 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Hanson co-founded Game Grumps in 2012, where he, co-host Dan Avidan, other regular collaborators, and special guests play and provide comedic commentary on video games. That humor has won the channel more than five million subscribers, leading to live show tours across the globe, and even becoming a video game publisher with the release of 2017’s Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, where Hanson served as the executive producer and a voice actor.
Outside Game Grumps, Hanson has acted in web series such as Bee and PuppyCat, Good Game, and Red vs. Blue. His voice can also be heard in games such as Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Minigore. Hanson also produces game parody music as part of the group Starbomb, whose latest album The TryForce releases April 19.
“Having done virtually everything else, it was only a matter of time before Arin opened up a PAX East,” said Jerry Holkins, co-founder of Penny Arcade and PAX. “I can't wait to absorb his profound wisdom.”
Hanson’s keynote takes place Thursday, March 28 at 10:30 AM in the Main Theatre. A limited number of Thursday and Sunday badges currently still available for sale for $57 each. Prices on any remaining tickets will increase to $63 starting Monday, March 25 at 12:00 AM ET. The full of schedule of events is available on the PAX East website, and through the Guidebook app.
PAX East 2019 marks the show’s tenth anniversary as the east coast’s premier gaming event. Tens of thousands will take part in a massive four-day celebration of gaming culture including hands-on demos with titles ranging from AAA hits to intriguing independent games, panels with industry luminaries and prominent content creators, intense esports tournaments with top competitors, and concerts from game-inspired composers and musicians.
