publisher, Fairplay Media, is delighted to announce that it has
made a move into the rapidly growing Chinese mobile games market
with the opening of its new operation in Beijing, China.
Based in the country’s capital city the new publishing
operation will directly handle the relationships and communications
with local app stores, carriers and services needed for Western
publishers and developers to move their products smoothly and
securely into the market-place.
“China simply cannot be ignored for either publishers
wanting to generate extra revenues or developers wanting to
maximise their reach, but it’s a notoriously tricky market to
not only understand but to actually get a foot hold in, let alone
make any money!” says Simon Phillips, CEO. “We’re
constantly seeing scenarios of games simply getting pirated or lost
or not having the correct technology for discovery and so on. This
really spurred us on to have our own team in the middle of it so we
can confidently publish not only our own titles but actively seek
third party titles that we think are suitable for that market and
provide services from localisation, cultural changes to transparent
analytics, monetisation and promotion.”
Fairplay China will be headed by General Manager, Miss Jessie
Zhou. With many years experience in publishing both mobile and
online games, Miss Zhou brings a wealth of essential local
