FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Curve lends its expertise to indie developers to port titles to Sony platforms

Reveals collaboration with Thomas Was Alone creator and other partners soon to be announced

London, UK – 07/03/2013: London-based development studio Curve announced its expansion into indie publishing today, shortly after it was revealed that it had been developing Mike Bithell’s BAFTA-winning platform game Thomas Was Alone for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Curve has achieved incredible success from self-publishing several of its own titles, including action platformer Explodemon on PSN and stealth puzzler Stealth Bastard Deluxe on PC. Now it is drawing on its industry knowledge and technical resources to consolidate its position as a leading independent publisher.

In addition to Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell, Curve has been collaborating with several other talented game creators to bring some of 2012’s best indie titles to Sony consoles. As well as giving console audiences the chance to experience some of the best games the indie scene has to offer, Curve is also eager to free up indie devs’ time to enable them to focus on new projects.

Speaking about Curve’s new venture, Managing Director Jason Perkins said “Curve has been self-publishing its own titles for some time now, and we’ve decided to apply that expertise to publishing indie games that otherwise might not find their way to consoles. We feel it’s the next logical step for Curve in a constantly changing market where it’s not always possible to rely on development alone.”

Curve’s Design Director Jonathan Biddle commented “As seasoned developers ourselves, we’re sympathetic to the challenges faced by independent game creators. We believe that our experience and resources put us in an ideal position to bring more exemplary indie games to the console market.”

Technical Director Richie Turner added “Our world-class development capacity gives us a strategic advantage over most other publishers. Our team can port games at a low cost without the need to involve third parties.”

Curve is interested to hear from game creators who want to see their work reach new players on console platforms.  Curve’s directors will be attending GDC in San Francisco this month, where they are keen to meet with potential collaborators.
