Berlin, February 20th, 2013
Winners of the “MMO of the Year 2013” have been
announced today on the official website
http://www.mmooftheyear.com.
During the past month 200,000 people from all over the planet voted
in the audience voting, quadrupling last year’s record. The
huge amount of support and the global reach are underlining the
award’s significance as the biggest honor for
massively-multiplayer online games. Organizer mmofacts.com and main
sponsor GameGenetics, the leading distributor of free-to-play
online games, would like to say thank you to all participants in
the audience voting and especially to all jurors.
“I’m extremely happy about the positive feedback the
award is getting from all sides. With the amount of votes exceeding
our biggest expectations the ‘MMO of the Year’ is now
clearly the biggest honor for massively-multiplayer online games. A
big thanks goes out to our sponsors for their active support, to
everybody who participated in the audience voting and to our jurors
of course! Congratulations to all winners!” said Christian
Justus, organizer of the event.
The open categories as well as the Browser MMOs were in the
center of attention of the audience voting. In the end GoodGame
Studios’ “Big Farm” and “Empire”
together with Ubisofts “The Settlers Online” were most
popular with the players, winning multiple categories each.
Main sponsor GameGenetics announced the winners of its special
prizes, rewarding the three games with the most player votes across
all categories. “We’re delighted about the positive
responses from all over the world. GameGenetics is proud that we
were able to support the award as main sponsor. Congratulations to
‘The Settlers Online’, ‘Good Game Big Farm’
and ‘Desert Operations’ for winning the special prizes!
Each of them is getting a free marketing package of 333 user
registrations provided by GameGenetics and our channel
partners” applauded Alexander Piutti, CEO and founder of the
Berlin-based game distribution company.
The jury voting was at least as exciting as the audience voting.
Some categories were undecided, so the jurors had to do run-off
votings after the official deadline. Eventually they voted a few
underdogs too, bringing quite some variety to the selection of
winners.
A list of all winners can be found at

The „MMO of the Year“ is supported by main sponsor
GameGenetics, as well as GameFinder, HoneyTracks, InnoGames,
upjers, Behrmann & Haertel Game Attorneys, Games-Career.com and
others.
