Gametracer - design and play platform games in minutes
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook RSS

[This unedited press release is made available courtesy of Gamasutra and its partnership with notable game PR-related resource GamesPress.]

Gametracer is currently in development and is going to be a free, high quality, fun, fast and easy way for gamers to create and play their own 2.5D platform games anywhere, anytime and easily share them with their friends on both PC and mobile devices . There is no need to read through pages and pages of documentation. Jump right into the fun!

Gamers can play and vote for other Community levels or play through the pre-made levels that will be included with the game.

No matter where you are or how much time you have: draw your own 2.5D platform shapes on the screen, both with finger or mouse, completely free hand and without any grid based restriction. You can choose from a wide range of themes, textures and patterns, drag, re-size, turn, move them around and save on the fly. Testing is immediately possible with a click on the play button. Once finished, the game will be created and sent to friends or to the community page according to your preference.

It’s possible to design a simple starting level or to take it all the way with tricky, physics based puzzles, enemies, mean traps and other challenges for friends and fellow Gametracers.

Schematics are additional tools to connect buttons to doors and traps and open up even more complex logic.

Gametracer offers something for everyone, no matter if you want to create a simple platform level with your kids, try to design an in game Calculator, show that you are a talented puzzle designer or just drive your friends crazy with impossible challenges!

Last but not least, customize your characters, create atmosphere with music, distribute pick-ups, add keys to unlock closed doors and much, much more.

It’s possible to challenge your friends to play through your level. Bet against them to unlock new features and exclusive content. You decide what the challenge should be! Faster time? More pickups? Less lives used? It’s your decision.

You can also browse the community listing for other levels and vote on the best and trickiest ones.

Rock Pocket Games plans to use crowdfunding options to not only connect closer with the community from the start but also to ensure the fastest possible development.
