FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COPENHAGEN, Denmark – [19 November 2012] – Team
Buttfighters is psyched to announce the release of
LAZA KNITEZ!! a local multiplayer deathmatch game
with a minimalist aesthetic and maximum awesome. The game is
now available on any Flash-capable OS in a two player web version
available on the website, a free downloadable shareware version for
four players and an XXL version available by donation.
Featuring a ten-second learning curve, the game's design brings
deathmatch to the masses (even your parents) while supporting
high-level competitive play.
A fast-paced
trailer with live footage of players having a
great time from exhibitions at Distortion Street Festival in
Copenhagen and pre-release testing is now available. Seeing the
game in action demonstrates the finely tuned game design that's
taken plenty of public events by storm.
About LAZA KNITEZ!!
LAZA KNITEZ!! is an arcade-style deathmatch game with finely
tuned gameplay and an irreverent sense of humor. It has a space
horse techno soundtrack, 8-bit graphics, and sound effects tuned to
a pentatonic scale so all slaughter takes place with maximum
harmony. The XXL version includes "CRAZINESS" mode, which records
the sounds players make and alters the game speed in response to
their howls of victory and defeat, and the ability to modify almost
every gameplay parameter from base speed to player names.
LAZA KNITEZ!! won the Indie Sensation Award at the 2012 Nordic
Game conference and has been exhibited at Distortion Street
Festival, Copenhagen's Culture Night, and Spilbar. It tours in a
custom-built hacked IKEA cabinet and will soon be reincarnated in a
refurbished arcade cabinet in the U.S. It is currently a student
entry in the 2012 Independent Games Festival and will be exhibited
at WORM in Rotterdam as part of the "VERSUS" event on November
24th.
About Team Buttfighters
Team Buttfighters is composed of four rowdy dudes who met in
Miguel Sicart's game design class at IT University of Copenhagen's
Games Master of Science program. They have taken an oath to
develop the best local multiplayer games on the planet. Jonatan van
Hove is a Belgian programmer and game designer known
internationally for his handsome mustache. Mads Johansen is a
Danish programmer and level designer who can out-code and out-drink
four to five normal men. Tommy Rousse is an American producer and
sound designer with a passion for trash talk and neon. Jonas Maaloe
is a Danish game and interface designer currently studying at NYU's
Game Center and chainsmoking. In hindsight, they probably should
have chosen a different company name. This is their first
game.
