Syndicate Reboot's Starbreeze Working With Swedish Director On New IP

Starbreeze Studios, the company behind the upcoming Syndicate reboot, revealed today that it is working on a new, as-of-yet unannounced IP with a top Swedish film director.

Josef Fares, director behind 2000 award-winning comedy film Jalla! Jalla!, worked together with design company The Story Lab to produce a prototype for a game concept, which he then showed to Starbreeze.

Starbreeze was convinced by the concept, and is now working with Fares to bring the idea to life as new video game IP.

Fares explained, "I love games, and I have been working on a games concept for quite some time. The more I worked with the concept, the more convinced I felt that this is a solid game idea."

"Together with Story Lab we created a prototype that we presented to Starbreeze, and they instantly liked the concept."

Starbreeze's CEO Mikael Nermark added, "Just minutes into Josef's presentation we knew that this was a game that we wanted to develop, and we started to work on the concept the very same day."

Electronic Arts revealed earlier this month that Starbreeze is set to revive the classic Syndicate franchise as a "brutal sci-fi first-person shooter experience."
