TitanFall to remain Microsoft exclusive 'for the life of the title'

October 29, 2013 | By Kris Ligman

During its earnings call with investors today, Electronic Arts announced that its upcoming first-person shooter, TitanFall, would be limited to Xbox and Windows platforms "for the life of the title."

EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen delivered the news during the investor Q&A, saying the title would not be coming to PlayStation or other platforms at any point. "It's a brand new IP, and it's exclusive only for the life of the title on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PCs," he said.

Microsoft's Larry Hryb later confirmed this statement over Twitter, verifying that this was not a timed exclusive. Vince Zampella, co-founder of TitanFall developer Respawn, also responded to the news, implying the team had assumed the game was a timed exclusive and "only found out recently" that this was not the case.

Zampella later clarified to followers on Twitter that subsequent titles in Respawn's pipeline would indeed be headed for platforms besides Windows and Xbox.
