Assassin's Creed III: Liberation wins Writers Guild award
February 19, 2013 | By Mike Rose

The Writers Guild of America has chosen Assassin's Creed III: Liberation as the winner of its sixth annual video game award.

The award aims to honor the best game script submitted to the WGA, and judges for the award are all either caucus members or WGA members actively working in games.

The "Outstanding Achievement in Videogame Writing" was given to Richard Farrese and Jill Murray, the pair who wrote the script for the PS Vita Assassin's Creed outing.

Farrese and Murray beat titles like 007 Legends, Assassinís Creed III, Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Halo 4 and Uncharted: Golden Abyss to claim the prize.

Past winners of the honor include Uncharted 3, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Dead Head Fred.

Is their award limited to WGA contracts?

Anyone can enter their game script. You pay a $100 fee to join the game writer's caucus. So about the same price as entering the IGF.
