Newsbrief: Dave Lebling and Marc Blank, co-founders of 1980s Zork studio Infocom, will be honored with the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Pioneer Award at the D.I.C.E. Awards in February.

The award aims to highlight those individuals who have helped shape the games industry, perhaps having a hand in the creation of a new technology, or birthing a new video game genre.

Lebling (pictured) and Blank are to be honored as a result of their work on titles like Zork and Enchanter, and are the first pair to receive the award together.

Previous receipients have included Activision co-founder David Crane, Raster Blaster creator Bill Budge, and Atari's Ed Logg.
