Newsbrief: As expected, Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops II took to the top of the UK sales charts in its opening week, and is now the biggest video game launch of 2012 in the UK.

In fact, Black Ops II now claims the fourth biggest video game launch of all time in the UK, behind the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Modern Warface 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warface 3.

There's more good news for the Call of Duty franchise this week as well, as Black Ops Declassified for the PS Vita entered the charts at number 16 -- a good entry point for a title released solely on Sony's handheld.

It would be interesting to see the numbers per platform, specifically how many CoD players chose to get it for Wii U.
