Newsbrief: THQ has handed its rights to upcoming third-person action game Devil's Third back to creator and former Ninja Gaiden director Tomonobu Itagaki.

The struggling publisher said earlier this year that it was in discussions with other publishers regarding the future of Devil's Third, adding that the game no longer "fits THQ's profile."

In a statement to Eurogamer, THQ has now confirmed that it will not be publishing the game, and has returned all of the game's IP rights to Itagaki and his company Valhalla Game Studios.
