Nintendo's Super Mario 3D Land was the top-selling video game in Japan during November, shifting over half a million units in total.

According to data from Famitsu publisher Enterbrain, and as reported by Andriasang, the latest in the Mario franchise was by far the highest seller, with 542,842 sales during last month.

The game sold 340,000 units during its first week, representing the best first week sales for any 3DS title, and caused a spurt in 3DS hardware sales.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva Extend for the PSP came in second, with 234,627 units sold, while the subtitled PS3 version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 took position three with 227,219 units sold.

Nintendo had two top-selling titles in Japan during November, as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword sat at number four with 194,894 unit sales. The Nintendo 3DS also saw two entries, as One Piece Gigant Battle 2 New World took up position at number nine.

The PlayStation 3 saw the most entries into the top 10, as the aforementioned Modern Warfare 3 was joined by Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3 and Sengoku Basara 3 Utage at numbers six to eight respectively.
