"Back From The Brink" by Simon Carless [07/27/00] Simon is back with another installment of the Mecha Godzilla Tokyo report! Get the scoop on PS One's prospects, Color Wonderswan rumors, Playstation 2 arcade board specs, and, as always, the Japanese top ten.

Tokyo Becalmed by Simon Carless [05.09.00] It's a relatively quiet time for videogaming in Tokyo right now, but plenty of interesting news still abounds. With E3 coming up this week in Southern California and with product announcements ranging from the eyebrow-raising to the hair-bending, the Mecha Godzilla Tokyo Report delivers the goods yet again.

Kanji, Kan You? by Simon Carless [04.10.00] The big news of the month was the Tokyo Game Show. Sega outdoes Sony (for once), Square is notably quiet about its major upcoming games, and Namco, Konami, and Capcom all provide news of their own. Also, PS2 games have begun working their way into the Top 10.

PS2 in Shinjuku by Simon Carless [03.09.00] At long last, the PS2 has been released, although titles are still slipping, and the incompatibility list is starting to grow. Also, some interesting licensing is helping to get games republished in the west, and two racing games -- one car, one horse -- lead the charts in Tokyo.

Beware the Console Wars, My Son by Simon Carless [01.28.00] As the release date for the Playstation 2 approaches, the hype continues to build in Tokyo. Eye Think Eye'm Turning Japanese! by Simon Carless [12.29.99] The final MGT report of the millenium sees the announcement of a Pokemon network title, the release of Nintendo's 64DD, and further developments in the parallel sagas of Dragon Quest VII and Final Fantasy IX.

Chu Chu Chuuuu! by Simon Carless [11.24.99] This week in the Japanese gaming world: Shen Mue gets pushed forward for a pre-millenium release, and a re-released Chrono Trigger hits the shelves and gears up Square gamers for Chrono Cross in 2000. Also, more Playstation 2 titles are announced, and Chu Chu Rocket debuts at number one.

Fly Me To The Moon? by Simon Carless [10.28.99] With the recent release of a slew of a new information from Sony spokespersons, foggy details about the Playstation 2 are finally coming into focus, and release titles are growing by the day. Sega's finally releasing some racing titles for the Dreamcast that may pose competition for the Playstation, Sony has begun installing memory card slots in arcade machines, and Nintendo has announced a new Zelda release for the Game Boy.

Super Bishi Bashi! by Simon Carless [10.13.99] Square's thowing a big Millennium party in Yokohama (about 13 months early for the real Millennium), which promises to reveal some upcoming product strategies for the company. Shen Mue's delayed, which Sega can't be pleased about that. And Simon's discovered a trick to get Japanese Dreamcast games to play on US systems.
