Metacreations Ships Bryce 4

Metacreations Corp. released Bryce 4, upgrading Bryce’s terrain-generation and animation software. Breaking into the production arena as an integral part of any professional 3D toolset, Bryce 4 boasts the ability to export fully textured terrains to 3D modeling/animation applications such as Ray Dream Studio, Infini-D 4.5, and Lightwave. In addition, this new version of Bryce includes the capability to export terrains to the Metastream format, Metacreations' open 3D file format for scaling and streaming 3D content over the web.

MetaCreations' Bryce 4

Bryce 4 supports more object import formats than earlier versions, for greater compatibility with other high-end 3D modeling and animation applications, and it now has the ability to preview animations prior to rendering. Metacreations feels that Bryce 4 will not only be useful to professional modelers and animators, but will find a fan base in serious hobbyists as well. Bryce 4 is available for Windows 95/98/NT and Power Macintosh on two hybrid CD-ROMs, for an estimated price of $199. An upgrade is available to registered users for $99.
