Hi Rudolph, I am not sure I understand. Is the black border a stroke/ outline set by default maybe Alternative there might be gaps between the elements - snapping helps to avoid those. Could you send me a screengrab to show

Yes... It 's done with inkscape - I added the tool bar on the side - and the colour codes match the panels in the step by step to show you the tools used in this panel 's changes.
