Comment In: The Vulnerability Of An Indie [News - 03/09/2011 - 02:22]

In usual game development I ...

In usual game development I agree Tyler. However as this was our first little test project as a team together and we had no publisher expecting a particular deadline, we felt it best to just push back the release. The concern was neither money nor talent, we thought of it ...

I'd be more than happy for you to do that Vivien. Please provide me with the link and I'll link to it from my original post on my blog as well.

Ah, thanks for asking Glenn, ...

Ah, thanks for asking Glenn, I had forgotten to make reference to this. I am a strong advocate for SCRUM and I use it to shape the way I set up our development team as much as possible. As we are all working remotely there are 4 of us it ...

I did this course last year and it was excellent. I also wrote a review: http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/AlistairDoulin/20100331/4824/Reviewing A ScrumMaster For Games Course.php

Comment In: Is There A Unity Penetration Issue? [Blog - 01/21/2011 - 12:54]

I completely agree with Luis. ...

I completely agree with Luis. Just imagine what gamers are experiencing when they hit your page. They simply see a black screen with an install unity button on it. I'd be interested to see your bounce rate if you included some screenshots and even a video to convince them it's ...

Comment In: Unity 3: A Review [Blog - 12/15/2010 - 11:52]

They are releasing a basic ...

They are releasing a basic Android version in the future. I highly recommend Sprite Manager 2 for 2D usage. It's disappointing that the native support for 2D is so weak, but this is a great alternative for the time being.

Comment In: Unite 10: Unity Unveils New Union Initiative, Talks Engine Upgrades [News - 11/10/2010 - 12:03]

As a developer using Unity, ...

As a developer using Unity, 3D support is low on my list of reasons for using it. The editor tools and cross-platform support are two big draw cards that make it a perfect choice for indie developers. Finally we have a write once, run anywhere product that does what it ...

Comment In: Should Indies Go To Conferences? [Blog - 10/12/2010 - 10:17]

Ichiro- I completely forgot about ...

Ichiro- I completely forgot about your first point and agree totally. Conferences and expo's for that matter are definitely doing at least once just so you know what they are like. As for your second point, yes, so long as afford takes into time lost development time as well as ...

Comment In: The Digital Download Future [Blog - 09/18/2010 - 04:26]

I couldn't agree more Tadgh. ...

I couldn't agree more Tadgh. Halo reach is a perfect example. Microsoft owns both the platform and has a strong hand in the development. It's the perfect product for them to push online. The biggest reason I can see against this is the HDD size restrictions. This crazy attitude of ...

Comment In: Could Digital Rental be the new Arcade? [Blog - 09/12/2010 - 09:08]

I totally agree with the ...

I totally agree with the discount off full price being one of the biggest selling points. I also see the reason many big publishers won't take this up or will only allow it after the first few months of sales is precisely because hit driven games don't fit this style. ...
