Ah, it must be that time of year again. Another set of layoffs and another corporate-speak "statement" that utterly ignores the fact that your (now-ex) employees are being treated with zero respect and care. So I'm going to rant about it.
With a rapid-fire succession of layoffs and closures in the industry recently, this seems to be a relevant question. Are people an "Asset" or are they just "Consumables"? Many of us don't like the answer - and it isn't even sound business.
Over the last few days, we have had a large number of responses to our job postings here on Gamasutra. There are some great potential employees in the pile. But some of you... LISTEN to this rant, please!
