Youtubers and Youtube Channels That Cater To iOS Games
by Alexandru Bleau on 08/04/14 09:55:00 am   Featured Blogs

The following blog post, unless otherwise noted, was written by a member of Gamasutra’s community.
The thoughts and opinions expressed are those of the writer and not Gamasutra or its parent company.

Last week we launched a big update for our iOS game The Way Home. In a way, this was the main launch so we wanted to promote the game and the update accordingly.

Among other promotional activities, this also meant contacting Youtube channels in the hopes that they will like and play your game.  There are a lot of lists with such channels  and there is also Pixel Prospector’s site: VideoGameCaster.

The problem is that not many cater to mobile games, iOS in our case. On VideoGameCaster‘s homepage it actually says that:

Video Game Caster youtube headline

So we started searching and we have found channels that have been covering and that cover mobile games. Some of them also take requests.

Here is the list. We hope it helps. Please do leave a comment if you know any other people / channels on Youtube that cover mobile games, especially iOS or if you own such a channel and we will add it to the list (and probably send you a review request for our game too).

The sorting method used to create this list: None.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm just about to start marketing my team's first mobile games, so this is tremendously helpful.

I'm really glad it helps. We'll keep updating the excel sheet so if you discover new ones, just leave a comment either here or on the document.

Nice work! I will probably use it in the future! I also made a list one year ago for a game I was releasing. I thought maybe I would have something to add... but nope, you guys got it all covered, haha.

Thank you! We don't have all of it covered as we're discovering and adding new ones every day. There are many more channels that cater to iOS games, just a bit harder to discover :)

Just a heads up, a lot of these channels are either super swamped or will request payment in order to feature your game.

@Radek Yup, we had the same response with some of these (especially with the paid part). Know any other channel not on the list and if not, can you tell us which channels from the list you do recommend? :)

I do not recall which specifically asked for payment, but somewhat predictably the higher-subscription channels tried to monetize coverage. We might do another follow-up post on Feeding Time where we discuss these, at which point I'd gather up the various channels we contacted (don't see any off the top of my head that's not on your current list).
